Julie Thompson is an American Nurses Credentialling Center certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 2001. She works at Carolinas Urgent and Primary Care. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. She then obtained an associate degree in Nursing from Piedmont Community College in Roxboro, NC, another bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC, and a master’s degree in Nursing, specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. As a Nurse Practitioner, areas she has worked include Urgent Care, Emergency Department, Dermatology, Neurosurgery, Pulmonary, Rural Health, Primary Care, Retail Health, Public Health Service, and Healthcare of the Incarcerated. She has also held positions in clinic management and leadership, such as Corporate Clinical Administrator and Assistant Medical Director. Julie is very thorough and enjoys educating patients to ensure that they understand the care they are receiving, their diagnoses, and treatment plan.
Julie is a native of Person County, Roxboro, North Carolina, with strong ties to this community. She loves water-skiing, boating, fishing, jet-skiing, paddleboard/kayaking. She also enjoys attending church, spending time outside, gardening, time with her father on the family farm, hiking, bicycling, motorcycle riding, grilling, and outdoor dining.
Ms. Thompson is excited to live here in Roxboro, NC full-time and treat the people of Person County and the surrounding areas.
