Safwat Nasrat, MD, Chief Medical Officer

Person Family Medical Center is pleased to announce our newest physician; Dr. Safwat Nasrat, a board-certified family physician. He will also serve as the Medical Director of the facility. Dr. Nasrat joined Person Family Medical Center on August 16, 2021.

Dr. Nasrat received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Asyut Medical School, Egypt. His medical residency in family medicine was completed at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, New York.
He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physician.

Dr. Nasrat was born in Egypt-Cairo, but now resides in Raleigh, NC with his spouse and two daughters. His spouse Dr. Nakhla currently serves as the Medical Director at Brantwood Rehabilitation Center. He enjoys spending time with his family and playing soccer in his spare time.

Kaitlyn Lytle, PA-C

Meet Kaitlyn Lytle, our newest Physician Assistant at Person Family Medical Center, Inc.

Kaitlyn is no stranger to Person County. She was born and raised in Roxboro, NC. She attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she graduated cum laude with her B.S. in Biology. She received her Physician Assistant degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC.

Kaitlyn is a member of The North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (NCAPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).

Kaitlyn has always considered Roxboro to be home and is excited to return to her hometown to practice as a Family Medicine Physician Assistant at Person Family Medical Center saying, “I chose Person Family Medical Center because I want to give back to my community and I believe in their mission of providing quality healthcare to the community.”

You can find Kaitlyn walking her two Goldendoodles or traveling during her spare time.

John Illsley, PA-C

John Illsley, PA-C is no stranger to Person Family Medical Center, Inc.  He returned to PFMC on May 4, 2020 and brings with him his expertise and experience as a certified Physician Assistant to the patients of Person Family Medical Center. John was born in Boynton Beach, FL and now resides in Roxboro NC with his wife and daughter. John earned his Master of Science Degree as a Physician Assistant from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL.                                                                               
John is a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant, certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) as well as Basic Life Support (BLS), and Board Certified with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
John is excited to have the opportunity to work in a family medicine environment and serve a diverse patient population. He is particularly interested in a lifestyle medicine approach; to work with patients to discover the root causes of their ailment.
In his spare time John enjoys playing tennis, going for long walks, cooking, playing his guitar and going to church.
The PFMC team are excited to welcome John back to our PFMC family.

Julie Thompson, FNP-C

Julie Thompson is an American Nurses Credentialling Center certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 2001. She works at Carolinas Urgent and Primary Care. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. She then obtained an associate degree in Nursing from Piedmont Community College in Roxboro, NC, another bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC, and a master’s degree in Nursing, specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. As a Nurse Practitioner, areas she has worked include Urgent Care, Emergency Department, Dermatology, Neurosurgery, Pulmonary, Rural Health, Primary Care, Retail Health, Public   Health Service, and Healthcare of the Incarcerated. She has also held positions in clinic management and leadership, such as Corporate Clinical Administrator and Assistant Medical Director.  Julie is very thorough and enjoys educating patients to ensure that they understand the care they are receiving, their diagnoses, and treatment plan.
Julie is a native of Person County, Roxboro, North Carolina, with strong ties to this community.  She loves water-skiing, boating, fishing, jet-skiing, paddleboard/kayaking.  She also enjoys attending church, spending time outside, gardening, time with her father on the family farm, hiking, bicycling, motorcycle riding, grilling, and outdoor dining.
Ms. Thompson is excited to live here in Roxboro, NC full-time and treat the people of Person County and the surrounding areas.

Jennifer Eure NP-C

Please help us by welcoming Person Family Medical’s newest staff member, Jennifer Eure. Jennifer is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She attended South University where she obtained her Masters. Jennifer is from Franklin, Virginia but moved to Person County back in 2022. Jennifer has background working at Person Memorial Hospital where she worked in the emergency room then later worked in Med Surge in the Intensive Care Unit. Jennifer has a German Sheppard fur-baby whom she adores “Luke”. She enjoys watching Virginia Tech and Carolina Panthers play football. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, shopping, fishing, and hunting.

Renee Foley, DDS, Dental Director

Dr. Gaskey-Foley grew up in Concord, NC and knew she wanted to be a dentist by the 7th grade.

She completed her under graduate degree in Dental Hygiene from UNC; Chapel Hill, NC in 1991. She completed her Doctor of Dental Science degree from UNC; Chapel Hill, NC in 1995.

She lives in Creedmoor with her husband, Matt, her twins, Declan, and Isabella and her two dogs, Lily and Axel.

Dr. Gaskey- Foley strives to provide quality dental care in a gentle manner. She enjoys spending time with her family and reading in her spare time.

Annie Chen, DDS

Dr. Chen was born in Shanghai, China and has resided in Durham, NC for the last 22 years.

Dr. Chen attended Duke University, Durham NC and completed her Dental of Doctor Science Degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, Chapel Hill, NC.

She completed a general practice residency for Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Fayetteville, NC.

Chen is a member of the North Carolina Dental Society of the American Dental Association.

In her spare time, Dr. Chen enjoys yoga, frisbee and cheering for her favorite Duke Basketball team. 

Dr. Genes Kaur, DDS

Dr. Genes Kaur joined the PFMC Dental team (Roxboro) in September. She is a graduate of N. C. State University and Arizona.

Dr. Kaur favorite hobby is watching basketball. Dr. Kaur is excited about joining our team and we also are very excited to have someone with her experience and knowledge on board with us.

Dr. Babak Yousefi, DDS

Dr. Babak Yousefi, DDS joined the PFMC Dental team (Caswell County) in May 2024. He was born in Tabriz, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. He currently resides in Chapel Hill, NC. with his wife.

He attended the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, NC and completed his Dental of Doctor Science Degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, Chapel Hill, NC.

Yousefi is a member of the North Carolina Dental Society and the American Dental Association. He was involved in research and has three scientific publications.

Dr. Yousefi enjoys listening to music, playing video games, spending time outdoors and staying active (running, swimming, soccer, etc.).

Alisa Paliy, M.D. Psychiatrist

Dr. Paliy is now accepting patients at our Person Family Behavioral Health Center located at 702 N. Main St.

She graduated from the Rostov State Medical University and then went on to complete an oncology residency and fellowship at the Rostov Research Institute of Oncology. During her years as an Oncology she published several articles and assisted in leading several clinical trials. In 2009 Alisa and her family moved to the United States where, while in the process of gaining U.S. approval of her Russian medical degree, she worked as a mental health counselor at an impatient child psychiatric facility. This led to a newfound interest in mental health and to her ultimate decision to apply for a psychiatry residency.

Dr. Paliy successfully completed her residency at Case Western Reserve University/ University Hospitals, Cleveland Ohio. She worked at Cleveland Medical Center where she was the program’s Administrative Chief Resident.

Paliy is eager about bringing her expertise to Person County as a general psychiatrist. Her clinical interests also include addiction psychiatry, and psychiatric emergencies.

Dr. Paliy has a Suboxone Provider Certification. She is a member of the American Medical Association.
In her spare time, Dr. Paliy enjoys spending time with her family, baking and traveling.

Aliedjawon “Al” Peoples, BSW, LCSW

Al is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 6 plus years of experience treating dually diagnosed patients with various behavioral health disorders including, depression, antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, & more. Al received his Master of Social Work in 2017 from North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC, and his Bachelor of Art degree in Communication Studies in 2008 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In addition, he is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and he has worked with individuals experiencing various types of traumas, including domestic violence, sexual abuse, and parental neglect--helping them to cope with & process their experiences. His training includes treating patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. Treatment modalities he likes to use include Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Person-centered Therapy, Solution-focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, DBT Skills Training, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. Al is also experienced in treating individuals who identify as LGBTQ.
 

Pushpinder Gill, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Pushpinder Gill was born in India but is a native of Durham County in North Carolina. She is certified as a nurse practitioner in both psychiatry and family medicine. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Family Medicine from UNC Chapel Hill and a postgraduate psychiatric certification from the University of New Hampshire. Ms. Gill has experience as a nurse practitioner in primary care, urgent care, addiction medicine, and psychiatric emergency medicine. During her experience, she has always been drawn to working in mental health and believes in empowering clients and providing holistic behavioral care that encompasses harmony within the body and mind.

Shumaine McCloud, LCSW

Shumaine McCloud is a Licensed Clinical Social worker with over 17 years’ experience in clinical social work.  Shumaine has experience working with all age groups.  She has worked with adults, children, and geriatric patients in an out-patient setting providing psychiatric counseling services.

Shumaine’s specialized treatment includes Individual Counseling, Family Counseling, Trauma Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Anger Management, Bipolar, Couples Therapy, and more.

Ms. McCloud currently resides in Henderson, North Carolina. She is excited about bringing her expertise to Person County and the surrounding area.
